Asian Americans are the fastest-growing minority population in the United States, with a population of over 18 million and $1 trillion in spending power as of 2018. It is crucial to identify emerging AAPI leaders and ensure that AANHPI communities are represented at all levels of government. In addition, it is imperative to educate leaders and elected officials who are not of AANHPI descent on policies that support AANHPI communities and how best to be allies.

The AANHPI Democratic Caucus of Arkansas was formed in June 2017, with the aim of recruiting, supporting, and advancing AANHPI candidates and issues across Arkansas.

Mission Statement: The mission of the AANHPI Democratic Caucus of Arkansas is to reinforce Democratic ideals, represent the rights and interests of Arkansans of Asian American and Pacific Islander descent, and recruit, train, and support Democratic candidates within AANHPI communities to run for public office.

Vision: The AANHPI Democratic Caucus of Arkansas was formed to operate within the DPA to support Democratic candidates, endorse or support ballot measures and initiatives, and foster participation in the policy decisions and outreach programs of the DPA in diverse AAPI communities.
