The Democratic Party of Arkansas will be circling back to vote on the Auxiliary Endorsement Amendment in March at the Northwest Arkansas state committee meeting. At the last state committee meeting held in December, there was some concern and confusion among members who may have been less informed or familiar with the issue.
We compiled a list of pros and cons to help break down these concerns and highlight key considerations.
Our AANHPI Caucus fully supports this amendment, as we feel it will allow us to elevate AANHPI candidates and create stronger support for those campaigning. We know that we have fewer AANHPI candidates running across Arkansas. Our candidates face a variety of challenges, from underrepresentation to isolation. By having the ability to endorse, we can create a stronger presence, which could encourage more of our community members to get involved. We could also leverage our caucus strengths to empower candidates who represent and champion our communities.
Is having a voice without reach impacting our ability to bring positive change to Arkansas? We feel it is.
